West Bromwich Albion ace Craig Dawson is attracting attention from Burnley, as well as two of the Championship promotion-chasers.

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, Burnley boss Sean Dyche is ready to make a fresh attempt to land West Brom ace Craig Dawson by making a £10 million bid for the defender at the end of the season.

The Baggies appear to be hurtling towards the Championship at a very alarming pace, and thus, a summer clear-out looks to be on the cards – and Dawson looks set to be one of the players who leaves The Hawthorns.

The Mirror reports that Dyche wanted to sign Dawson as Michael Keane’s replacement when he moved to Everton last summer, and plans to have a fresh go by launching a bid at the end of the season.

The Mirror adds that both Middlesbrough and Aston Villa are keen on signing the 27-year-old, but they will have to secure promotion out of the Championship if they hope to rival the Clarets – and based on the current table, it appears that, at best, there may only be one of the pair in the top flight next term with both currently situated in the top six and well adrift of the automatic-promotion spots.

Dawson worth £10 million?

It has been a miserable season for West Brom, but Dawson has arguably been one of their better performers during the year, raring letting the side down regardless of whether he plays at right-back or in the middle of the defence.

For Burnley, it would appear to be a very shrewd piece of business if they managed to bring Dawson to Turf Moor as they look to build on a sensational campaign. And for West Brom, it would be a huge blow ahead of a probable season in the second tier to lose one of their most consistent performers.
