The midfielder is yet to secure a move away from St James’ Park.

According to the Daily Mail, Burnley are monitoring Cheick Tiote’s situation at Newcastle United.
The midfielder is expected to leave the Magpies before the end of the transfer window after falling down the pecking order at the club.
He was close to a move to China in the January transfer window but that fell through and he has since been linked with a number of clubs this summer.

It appeared that he was set to join Galatasaray this week but that move collapsed at the last minute with reports of a failed medical.
He is now on the hunt for another option before the transfer window closes and it appears there may be interest in the Premier League.

According to the Daily Mail, Burnley are monitoring the situation as they continue to add to their squad for this season.
It seems unlikely that they would make a move however, having already signed Steven Defour in that position, as well as targeting a move for Derby County’s Jeff Hendrick.
That would surely make Tiote an unnecessary signing, although perhaps he could be targeted to add much needed Premier League experience to Sean Dyche’s side.
