Jonathan Walters is reportedly unhappy at Stoke City and it appears that Sean Dyche’s Burnley are hoping to take full advantage.
Burnley manager Sean Dyche is looking to build on an excellent first season back in the Premier League. And it appears that he has identified one of the top flight’s most hard-working players as an astute addition for his solid Clarets squad.
According to the Daily Mail, Burnley have made a £3 million bid to sign Stoke City forward Jonathan Walters. The 33-year-old has just 12 months remaining on his contract at the Bet 365 Stadium and is understood to be frustrated at his lack of opportunities under Mark Hughes.

Walters started just 13 Premier League games last season as his manager continues to priorities inspiration over perspiration in the Potteries.
Therefore, all this means it would be little surprise if the Republic of Ireland international was to bring an end to his seven year association with Stoke this summer.
And Walters would appear to fit the bill perfectly at Burnley. Dyche’s overachieving side have a core of diligent British players and the rugged Walters could join international team-mates Jeff Hendrick, Robbie Brady and Stephen Ward at Turf Moor.
Furthermore, only the three relegated clubs scored fewer top flight goals than Burnley last season so attacking reinforcements are required – particularly as Ashley Barnes and Andre Gray have reportedly attracted interest from elsewhere.
It remains to be seen, however, whether Stoke are willing to cash in on Walters a year before he will be available on a free.
