According to The Daily Mail (08/07, Euros Verdict pullout, p11), Burnley have made an enquiry into the possibility of signing Celtic playmaker Ryan Christie.
It’s stated that Burnley have made contact in an effort to bring Christie down to Turf Moor in a cut-price move this summer.
Christie is allegedly inside the final six months of his contract – a bizarre situation – and could sign a pre-contract agreement with another club this summer.
That has sparked major interest in Christie, but Burnley want him in now and may offer Celtic a small fee before he leaves for nothing.
Christie, 26, racked up seven goals and 15 assists last season but often frustrated Celtic fans with his attempts to shoot from all distances and angles.
The Scot clearly has talent, and Sean Dyche may hope to add him to his squad in search of more guile and creativity.

Celtic aren’t in a particularly strong position here, and new boss Ange Postecoglou is probably already resigned to losing him this summer.
With Burnley now an established Premier League side, Christie could be tempted by a move to East Lancashire – and his exit would potentially give David Turnbull an even bigger role at Celtic next season.
