Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in Nottingham Forest winger Jamie Paterson.

Burnley have made an offer to Nottingham Forest to sign Jamie Paterson this summer, according to Sky Sports.

The 23-year-old joined Forest from Walsall in the summer of 2013, signing a two-year contract with the option of a third, as reported by BBC Sport at the time.

The Nottingham Post reported last week that Championship rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in Paterson.

Should Nottingham Forest sell Jamie Paterson?

Paterson had a good debut season at the City Ground, but he failed to step up during the recently concluded 2014-15 campaign.

The Englishman scored eight goals and created 45 chances in 32 Championship appearances in the 2013-14 season.

Paterson had a pass accuracy of 78% and a shot accuracy of 57%, and won four headers, 29 dribbles and 18 tackles.

In the 2014-15 campaign, the winger scored one goal and created 12 chances in 21 league matches.

Paterson had a pass accuracy of 77% and a shot accuracy of 43%, and won two headers, 16 dribbles and 18 tackles.

Ideally, Paterson should be given another season at Forest, but with his contract running out next summer, the Reds face a dilemma.

Forest will lose the 23-year-old for nothing if they let his contract run down, and given their financial situation they could be tempted to sell him this summer.

However, the Reds will need a replacement for him, and it will not be easy to find one given the transfer embargo they have hanging over them at the moment.
