Escalante is the latest midfielder to be linked with a move to Burnley.
Eibar midfielder Gonzalo Escalante is of interest to Burnley, according to Sky Sports.
It is claimed that Sean Dyche’s scouting team have been scouting Escalante throughout the past year and are keen to sign him in a deal which could be cost around £6 million.

Despite last week’s capture of Jack Cork from Swansea City, Burnley are seemingly intent on strengthening in central midfield having released Joey Barton earlier in the summer.
Belgium international Steven Defour could also depart [Lancashire Telegraph], while Crystal Palace’s James McArthur has been strongly linked with a move to Turf Moor.
According to The Sun [18 July, page 51], Dyche is ready to step up his interest in McArthur, who is said to be valued at £2 million than Palace.
Though seemingly more expensive, Escalante is five years’ the 29-year-old’s junior and can operate in a variety of midfield positions, including out wide.

The Argentine began life at Boca Juniors, and has also played for Catania in Italy.
