The Clarets are the latest side to be linked with Bamford, after Wigan Athletic and Aston Villa.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche believes he can get Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford firing again, a report in Thursday’s Sun newspaper (page 53) claims.
The Clarets are said to be keen to secure Bamford’s services either on loan or permanently, after a disappointing 2015-16 campaign for the England Under-21 star.
Wigan Athletic made a £3 million bid for Bamford last week, according to the Daily Mail, which also claimed Aston Villa had a good chance of signing him.
However, the prospect of regular matches in the Premier League could lure the 22-year-old to Lancashire instead.
Bamford has spent the past four seasons away from Stamford Bridge on loan, impressing in the Championship with Derby County and Middlesbrough, where he was crowned the division’s player of the year in 2015.
Top-flight spells with Crystal Palace and Norwich City did not go to plan, however, and the player may view the Football League as his best bet as he looks to kick-start a promising career.
Bamford, who arrived at Chelsea from Nottingham Forest in 2012, signed a new three-year deal last summer.
