According to The Sun, Burnley are now launching a move to beat Leeds United to the signing of Lyon wide man Maxwel Cornet.
The Clarets have allegedly opened talks with Lyon to thrash out a deal that could be worth up to £13million.
Hertha Berlin are also though to be keen, whilst this report suggests that Leeds United are set to pull out of the race.
They asked Lyon about a deal but seemingly felt that Cornet was too expensive, and are subsequently looking elsewhere – potentially leaving Burnley at the front of the queue.
This does add up with what Olympique-et-Lyonnais reported, suggesting that Leeds offered just over £10million for Cornet but wouldn’t go any higher when Lyon said no.
Pep Guardiola has been a noted fan of Cornet in the past, and he could be facing his Manchester City side next season if Burnley do swoop.

The 24-year-old has mostly played as a left back in recent times, but with Charlie Taylor having that role in Sean Dyche’s side, Cornet may be seen as more of a winger at Burnley.
Leeds could yet return with a new move for the Ivorian international, but Burnley seem to be the more likely destination for him this summer.
