Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor is attracting plenty of attention from Burnley, but their strong interest may still not convince them to make a move.

A report in the Yorkshire Evening Post has suggested that despite holding a strong interest in Charlie Taylor, Burnley are cautious about potentially overpaying for the Leeds defender.
Taylor’s future almost definitely appears to lie somewhere other than Elland Road with his contract with the Whites expiring later this month.
But with the left-back under the age of 24 and with Leeds offering him a new two-year deal, the Whites would be due compensation from whichever club he ends up joining, and a tribunal may be required to set a fee for the academy graduate if a fee cannot be agreed between Leeds and whichever team ultimately closes in on a deal.
West Brom had, for a long time, appeared to be in the driving seat to land Taylor’s signature, but the Baggies’ desire to avoid a tribunal has seemingly seen them allow the door to be opened for other sides to make an approach (via Yorkshire Evening Post).

That has allowed Burnley to swoop in, but the Yorkshire Evening Post adds that they are also concerned about overpaying for the 23-year-old, with Leeds optimistic about earning a figure in excess of £5 million.
While Taylor may be running out of potential options – though there is no reason to suggest that either of the two sides will not make the kind of offer that appeals to Leeds, or actually be willing to go through a tribunal – the Yorkshire Evening Post adds that the left-back is unlikely to return to the Whites’ training ground for the start of pre-season.
