Burnley have discussed a move for Everton’s James McCarthy, The Mail reports in its Monday transfer blog.
McCarthy has only started seven Premier League games throughout Ronald Koeman’s Everton reign, and is said to be ready to leave the Merseyside club this summer.
Nevertheless, it is claimed that Everton want more than £20 million to part with the Republic of Ireland midfielder.
The two clubs are already in talks over the transfer of Burnley’s Michael Keane to the Toffees and it is possible that McCarthy could be included in the deal, according to The Mail.

However, with McCarthy also said to have interest from Newcastle United and Aston Villa, it is claimed the 26-year-old may not fancy a move to Burnley.
The Clarets could be seeking McCarthy as a replacement for Steven Defour, who the tabloid reports is looking to leave Turf Moor.
Meanwhile, Sean Dyche’s side are one of three chasing former Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez, who is valued at £15 million by Southampton, according to The Mail.
