Burnley are chasing Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall.
According to The Mirror (19:40), Nottingham Forest have rejected two bids from Burnley for defender Joe Worrall – but another offer is on the way.
Worrall, 21, has come up through the ranks with Forest having joined the club back in 2011, snubbing interest from local rivals Derby County and Leicester City in order to head to the City Ground.
The 6ft 4in defender has recently become a key player for Forest, making 26 Championship appearances this season, meaning he has missed just two games, and his impressive displays are attracting interest.
The Mirror (19:40) report that Burnley have offered Forest two separate deals for Worrall, one worth £4million and the other worth £6million, but the Championship club have stood firm and rejected both.
However, its also noted that Burnley are set to make a new bid on Tuesday, and Forest may be willing to sell if they receive a bid of around £10million before Wednesday’s transfer deadline.
Burnley have seen James Tarkowski and Ben Mee excel this season, but with Kevin Long the only other cover at centre back, it’s no surprise to see the Clarets target another defender having chosen not to replace Michael Keane over the summer.
Sean Dyche is now lining up Worrall to boost his options at the back, and after losing homegrown talents such as Jamaal Lascelles and Oliver Burke in recent years, Forest fans certainly won’t want to see Worrall leave – especially this close to the transfer deadline.
