Burnley are allegedly keen on signing the Tottenham Hotspur striker.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Burnley are weighing up a £15 million bid for Tottenham hitman Vincent Janssen, as Sean Dyche looks to bolster his attacking ranks at Turf Moor.
The Dutchman joined Spurs from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £17 million, but he has desperately failed to establish himself in north London, scoring just six goals for the club.
The Daily Mail claims that Tottenham are willing to sell Janssen for around £15 million, and the player himself is desperate to leave, with the Clarets contemplating a move for the striker.
Good signing for Burnley?
This is a tricky one.
Janssen has been so poor for Spurs that it is hard to argue that he would be a useful asset for Sean Dyche’s side.
Somewhere buried deep inside the 24-year-old is a real player, however, and a fresh start at a new club might be just what he needs to breath fire back into his stuttering career.
There is a real concern that Janssen is just not cut-out for the Premier League, however, and bringing him to Turf Moor for £15 million would undoubtedly involve a certain amount of risk for Burnley.
Dyche might just be better served in avoiding a move for the Tottenham forward, and look elsewhere.
£15 million is a lot of money for Burnley, and there is no reason to suggest that Janssen wouldn’t struggle just as much in Lancashire as he has done on north London.
