Burnley are considering a January move for the Stoke City striker Tyrese Campbell, according to The Sunday Mirror (25 October, page 66).
The newspaper claims the Burnley manager Sean Dyche is keen to add to his side’s attacking options ‘after coming up short’ in the summer transfer window and sees Campbell as ‘the ideal recruit’.
The 20-year-old, whose father is the former Everton striker Kevin Campbell, scored once and assisted twice in Stoke’s 3-2 win against Brentford on Saturday.
And he has now been directly involved in seven goals in eight games across all competitions this season.
It is no surprise then to see higher division clubs like Burnley being credited with an interest.
Campbell, though, signed a new four-year contract earlier this year, leaving Stoke in a strong position to negotiate should any offers come in.
Whether or not the former Manchester City prospect would even fancy a move to Burnley remains to be seen, with the Clarets currently in the Premier League’s relegation places and Stoke just two points off the Championship’s top two.
