The West Bromwich Albion forward could be offered a route back to the Premier League with Burnley, Bournemouth and Leicester City.

Burnley, Bournemouth and Leicester City are considering triggering Jay Rodriguez’s £5 million release clause, according to The Telegraph.

The newspaper claims an agreement reached with the forward’s employers, West Bromwich Albion, during last summer’s transfer window allows him to leave for the seven-figure fee, which rises to £10 million in 12 months’ time.

West Brom are said to have persuaded the forward to give them one more year as they sought to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking, and resisted bids of up to £16 million from Burnley post-relegation.

But Rodriguez’s first club aren’t the only ones looking to take advantage of the new development, as Bournemouth and Leicester also weigh up offering him a route back to the top flight, according to The Telegraph.

The Leicester boss, Brendan Rodgers, was previously linked with a move for the England international while manager of Liverpool.

Rodriguez scored 22 goals and set up six in 48 games for West Bromwich Albion in 2018/19.

Would the West Brom forward be a good addition for Burnley, Bournemouth and Leicester at just £5 million?
