West Bromwich Albion pair Jay Rodriguez and Craig Dawson have reportedly been the subject of a bid from Burnley.

The Baggies duo were two of the players who arguably emerged from the disappointing previous campaign with some credit. Dawson, in particular, often looked a class apart in comparison with several of the club’s other defenders, while Rodriguez helped give Darren Moore’s side a chance of survival with some important goals in the latter stages of the campaign.

The Mirror adds that Sean Dyche’s side are hoping for a quick answer. But, while it may not be a major surprise if the players are keen on considering the move to Turf Moor – especially Rodriguez, who came through the ranks with the Lancashire club – it would also not be a shock if the Baggies were less than happy with Burnley’s offer.

Both Dawson and Rodriguez would be hugely important players if they stuck around next season, and Moore may be determined for West Brom to ask for significantly more than what is on the table. Replacing either man is going to be a tough task.
West Brom have already sold Jonny Evans during this window, so losing another key defender would be a major disappointment, and the club arguably do not have the depth up front right now to lose someone with Rodriguez’s ability.
