Burnley are reportedly keen on signing the West Bromwich Albion forward.
According to a report from Sky Sports, Burnley and West Brom have reached in impasse in talks regarding the transfer of Jay Rodriguez, with the Baggies demanding £18 million for the striker.
The 28-year-old moved to the Hawthorns from Southampton in the summer of 2017, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £12 million according to BBC Sport, and he has gone on to chalk up 11 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions for West Brom.
Rodriguez actually began his career at Burnley, and Sky Sports claims that Sean Dyche is desperate to bring him back to Turf Moor in an effort to add more quality to his attacking ranks.

Sky Sports suggest that a potential move from the Black Country to Lancashire for the striker could be off, though, with West Brom demanding £18 million for the 28-year-old’s services – a fee that the Clarets are unwilling to pay.
Rodriguez is hardly the most clinical of strikers, so Burnley cannot be blamed for refusing to meet the Baggies’ rather extortionate asking price.
There is still plenty of time left before the transfer window slams shut, however, and if some sort of compromise can be reached, it would be no surprise to see the 28-year-old return to Turf Moor before the start of the new season.
