Is Romelu Lukaku’s cousin, Austria Vienna left-back Boli Mbombo, on his way to England with Premier League Burnley or Championship Huddersfield?

Romelu Lukaku’s brother, Lazio left-back Jordan, has been heavily linked with a move to England in recent months with a move to Newcastle United on the cards, as reported by Il Messaggero.

And the Manchester United striker’s cousin could be on his way to Britain too. According to The Sun, Burnley and Huddersfield Town are keen on Boli Mbombo, the Rapid Vienna full-back who comes from a rather impressive footballing family.

Mbombo has more in common with Jordan Lukaku than the £75 million Belgian battering ram, given that he plays on the left rather than through the middle at centre-forward.

The 23-year-old played 42 games for Austrian outfit Rapid Vienna last season, including seven in the Europa League.

And The Sun believes that both Burnley and Huddersfield are weighing up £3 million bids in the hope that they can lure the Antwerp-born flyer to either Turf Moor or the John Smith’s Stadium.

If Mbombo moves to Lancashire, he will represent competition for Charlie Taylor at left-back. Burnley recently released veteran Stephen Ward and Mbombo would be a quicker, younger alternative.

Huddersfield, meanwhile, have lost Chris Lowe to Dynamo Dresden after their relegation from the Premier League so Jan Siewert is in need of a new first-choice left-back.
