Burnley are considering a move for Hull City defender Michael Dawson as they prepare to potentially lose Michael Keane.
Hull City’s Michael Dawson is being targeted by Burnley
According to a report in The Sun on Sunday (print edition; June 11th 2017; pg. 59), Burnley have earmarked Hull City defender Michael Dawson as a potential replacement for Michael Keane who looks destined to leave Turf Moor this summer.
The Sun on Sunday reports that Keane is likely to leave the Clarets following their excellent campaign in the Premier League, and Sean Dyche has been looking at potential targets in preparation for his exit.
Burnley’s Michael Keane
And it appears that the Tigers skipper is likely to be one of the men who Dyche targets following Hull’s relegation from the Premier League, with The Sun on Sunday (print edition; June 11th 2017; pg. 59) suggesting that he would be keen to stay in the top flight if handed the chance.
The Sun on Sunday adds that the probable asking price of £2 million is likely to appeal to Burnley despite his struggles with injury as it would leave more than enough in the transfer kitty to go out and make a further addition to their defence, with Barnsley’s Marc Roberts remaining a target.

Though the 33-year-old has only made more than 30 Premier League appearances in a season once since 2007/08, his experience would arguably make him a decent acquisition, especially as he could seemingly arrive for a bargain fee.
And if Keane’s potential departure and Dawson’s arrival leaves Dyche with a decent amount of funds to make further improvements to the squad, then perhaps the fans will feel that the club have certainly made the most out of a disappointing situation in losing one of their better players.
