Marcus Antonsson has enjoyed a great run since leaving Leeds United in the summer.

According to a report from FotbollDirekt, former Leeds striker Marcus Antonsson is set to be watched by Bundesliga sides when he faces Chelsea in the Europa League, with Malmo set to demand double what they paid the Whites for the striker in the summer.
Antonsson never managed to make the grade at Elland Road. After an encouraging start, he quickly fell out of favour as Garry Monk changed to a system that led to Chris Wood topping the Championship’s scoring charts.
His second season with the Whites saw Antonsson join Blackburn on loan. He seemed unlucky to not be recalled in January after a bright first-half of the campaign at Ewood Park. But the decision to leave him with Rovers appeared to be vindicated as his form dipped.
And because of that, there did not seem to be too many tears shed when he left Leeds permanently in the summer, joining Malmo. But he has managed to prove a point by scoring 11 goals in 21 games in all competitions, including three in his last three Europa League games.

Malmo now face Chelsea in the last 32 of the competition next week. And the Malmo fans will not be the only ones hoping to see Antonsson make an impact over the two legs.

With Kemar Roofe in blistering form for much of the campaign and Patrick Bamford boasting an impressive tally considering he is yet to start a Championship game, it is unlikely that Marcelo Bielsa will be kicking himself over letting Antonsson go.
But perhaps the forward’s form and the interest now being shown in him highlights that some of Bielsa’s predecessors should have had more of a look at the forward before writing him off.
