Liverpool have been linked with Sporting’s Bruno Fernandes.

According to Correio de Manha in Portugal, Sporting may be forced to sell star playmaker Bruno Fernandes this summer – and Liverpool are thought to be in the race.
Sporting endured a tumultuous summer, losing Rui Patricio, William Carvalho, Gelson Martins and Rafael Leao after an attack on the club’s training ground, and Fernandes himself actually terminated his contract.
However, Sporting convinced him to return, and he has been in sensational form this season, hitting 21 goals and 11 assists in 38 games in all competitions.
Those really are frightening numbers for the 24-year-old attacking midfielder, but Correio de Manha report that he may be on his way out of Lisbon come the end of the season.
It’s claimed that Sporting have financial issues, and selling Fernandes for a huge price is their best way out right now, with The Mirror relaying that Liverpool are a top contender for his signature.
Since selling Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona last January, Liverpool have lacked a creative midfield player who can score and assist, with Naby Keita yet to really show those kind of qualities.

Adding a player like Fernandes, who is a constant threat from long range and from set pieces, would finally fill the void left by Coutinho at Anfield.
Given his staggering form this season and his huge potential, Liverpool fans should be hoping that this report in Portugal is true, and that Fernandes could be Merseyside-bound this summer.
