Newcastle United appear to be looking for January targets already.

According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United’s Steve Agnew and Stephen Clemence watched Middlesbrough in action against Brentford last month.
The Magpies made a slow start to the transfer window but ended up signing Joelinton, Allan Saint-Maximin, Emil Krafth, Jetro Willems and Andy Carroll.
It wasn’t a perfect window for Newcastle, and new boss Steve Bruce will already hope for a better January window to beef up his squad if he can.
It seems that the planning has started already, as Bruce’s coaches Agnew and Clemence were spotted scouting Middlesbrough against Brentford last month.
Newcastle are allegedly looking to the Championship market, which Bruce will certainly know well, possibly better than predecessor Rafael Benitez did.
The game finished 1-0 to Brentford, and goalscorer Ollie Watkins would certainly fit the bill for Newcastle as a promising young attacker, who can play either up front or out wide.

Having a player like Watkins working around Joelinton could be appealing, but who else could Newcastle have been eyeing in that game?
Lewis Wing has been thriving for Middlesbrough and would give Newcastle another midfield talent for the future with Sean Longstaff, whilst left back Hayden Coulson is showing some promise too.
It may become clear in the coming months just who Newcastle are looking at, with a January move seemingly being looked at by Agnew and Clemence.
