Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce is pushing Mike Ashley hard to sign Ryan Fraser, the Northern Echo reports.
Fraser has become one of Newcastle’s top targets this summer, following the expiration of his contract at Bournemouth.
With Newcastle shopping on a limited budget, Bruce seemingly feels that Fraser is one of the best options available to him.
And even though the winger’s wage demands are inflated, as he is available for free, Bruce really wants the transfer done.
He is apparently encouraging Ashley to pay the higher salary demands, as Fraser is a player he wants to add to his squad.
It is understandable why Bruce is so keen for Fraser to join too.

The Scotland international would add further pace to Newcastle’s attack, and if the Magpies had him, Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin all lining up behind a goalscoring forward then they could be a real threat.
Fraser, who was labelled as ‘incredible’ by former Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe (BBC Sport), has proven his threat in the Premier League over a number of seasons now, and looks one of the best value for money signings on the market.
