Newcastle United will make a final attempt to keep Matty Longstaff at the club, according to the Northern Echo.
Longstaff has been heavily linked with Udinese recently, with the midfielder’s contract due to expire in the near future.
However, Newcastle have not given up hope over keeping Longstaff and are hopeful that he will yet stick around.
Steve Bruce now wants to meet with Longstaff in an attempt to persuade him to stay at St. James’ Park.
Bruce is a big fan of the 20-year-old, who has been one of Newcastle’s success stories this term.

Longstaff has been given a handful of first-team appearances and has looked perfectly capable of performing at Premier League level.
If he does sign for Udinese Newcastle would only be entitled to around £450,000 in compensation, which would be a huge financial blow to the Magpies.
Longstaff is clearly worth significantly more than that figure, and Bruce now wants to make a last-minute play to keep him on Tyneside for the future.
Longstaff is said to have been offered a £30,000-a-week deal with Udinese (Northern Echo), which is a significantly bigger contract than Newcastle have been prepared to offer so far.
