Aston Villa are reportedly keen to sign Fabian Delph and Tom Cleverley.
According to The Telegraph, Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce is keen to bring midfielders Fabian Delph and Tom Cleverley back to the club during this month’s transfer window.
Villa completed their first signing of the Bruce era earlier this week, as Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone joined the club on loan until the end of the season.
However, with Villa seven points off the Championship play-offs, manager Bruce will be keen on further additions, and midfield appears to be a particular area of concern.

Ashley Westwood has struggled this term, whilst summer signing Aaron Tshibola has made little impact, leading The Telegraph to report that Bruce wants to land two of four top targets.
It’s stated that a £3million bid has been made for Nottingham Forest’s Henri Lansbury, whilst there is also interest in Leicester City’s Matty James – but it’s the other two names that will stir debate amongst Villa fans.
Fabian Delph in action for Aston Villa
The report claims that Bruce is also keen to take Everton’s Tom Cleverley and Manchester City’s Fabian Delph on loan, who have both recently left Villa Park.
Cleverley, 27, spent the 2014/15 season on loan at Villa Park before joining Everton, but having slipped down the pecking order under Ronald Koeman in recent weeks, he could be loaned out this month – and Villa are allegedly keen to re-sign him.
Meanwhile, Delph – also 27 – became enemy number one for Villa fans in the summer of 2015, as he stated his allegiance to the club, only to turn his back on Villa Park in order to join Manchester City.
The England international has played just 28 minutes of Premier League action this season, and could be loaned out to get him playing again, with Bruce seemingly willing to risk the wrath of Villa fans by bringing him back to the club.
It’s added that Villa face competition from Newcastle United for both players, whilst West Brom are monitoring Delph’s situation ahead of a possible move for him.
