Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce is planning to start Danny Rose against Manchester CIty, according to a report in the Northern Echo

Rose was dropped to the bench as Newcastle played out a 2-2 draw with West Ham United, with Javier Manquillo taking his spot at left-back.

But Bruce was just resting Rose, with the England international due to come back into his line-up on Wednesday.

Rose will be looking to continue to impress, as he aims to push through a permanent move to St. James’ Park.

The Tottenham loanee has already gone on record to suggest that he would like to move to Newcastle on a longer-term basis.

Rose has enjoyed his most consistent run of starts all season since moving to Tyneside, and has generally looked solid throughout his time in the North East.

The Northern Echo suggest that any move for Rose could depend on Newcastle’s takeover going through though, with their potential Saudi owners still continuing to await Premier League approval for their bid.
