Steve Bruce does not see Jacob Murphy as part of his Newcastle United squad next season, and wants to sell him, according to the Northern Echo.
Murphy is currently attracting attention from a number of Championship clubs, including Middlesbrough.
And it seems that Bruce is more than happy to let the winger leave, as he doesn’t think he has any chance of breaking into Newcastle’s squad.
Murphy joined Newcastle for a £12 million fee in 2017, when Rafael Benitez was in charge, but he has made very little impact at St James Park.
The 25-year-old was loaned out to Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship last term, where he impressed, but he doesn’t seem to have done enough to force his way back into Bruce’s plans.
Newcastle already have the likes of Miguel Almiron, Joelinton, Allan Saint-Maximin and Matt Ritchie who are capable of playing down the flanks, and Murphy is not regarded by Bruce as a player who can challenge for their spots.

Newcastle would like to get rid of him on a permanent basis now, but that is reportedly unlikely to happen.
With many Championship clubs struggling financially, Newcastle have accepted that they may have to settle with letting Murphy go on loan.
