According to Fox Sports, as cited by Tutto Mercato Web, Inter Milan midfieler Marcelo Brozovic’s future looks bleak after a third exclusion from the squad, with Chelsea and Tottenham interested in him.

Brozovic, 23, had caught the eye with Dinamo Zagreb in his native Croatia, scoring 13 goals in 99 games to earn a January 2015 move to Inter Milan.

Initially an 18-month loan deal, Brozovic made his move permanent over the summer after scoring seven times in 35 games last season – but thing are turning sour for the midfielder now.

Brozovic has played just 20 minutes of Serie A action under manager Frank de Boer, and just 65 minutes in total having seemingly failed to impress his Dutch boss.

The midfielder was excluded from the squad for two games, and that became three when he was completely left out of the squad for the 1-1 draw with Bologna on Sunday.

Now, Tutto Mercato Web – citing TV station Fox Sports – suggest that Brozovic has been given a clear indication that he has little future at the San Siro under De Boer, and could leave the club in January.

The report adds that Chelsea are keen on Brozovic, with manager Antonio Conte familiar with him from his time in Italian football, whilst Tottenham are also allegedly interested should he be available in the New Year.

Calcio Mercato report that Inter would sell Brozovic for €20m (£17.35m), but they may find it difficult to demand such a high fee when it’s abundantly clear that he has no place under De Boer.

Able to play in the heart of midfield or out on the right hand side – as he did for Croatia at Euro 2016 – Brozovic would be a versatile midfield option for Chelsea or Spurs, but you have to wonder why Inter and De Boer are so adamant that he doesn’t play right now.
