The Wigan Athletic striker is a transfer target for Bristol City, according to reports.

Robins boss Lee Johnson is keen on bringing Latics hitman Omar Bogle to Ashton Gate this summer, and is lining up a bid for the 25-year-old, according to the Sun, on page 46 on their July 31st print edition.

Bogle has only been with Wigan for six months, following his move from Grimsby Town in January, and has scored just three goals in 14 outings since then.

He has been put on the transfer list by Wigan this summer, however, after Latics boss Paul Cook told him he doesn’t fit into their style of play, according to Sky Sports.

And the Sun claim that Bogle has emerged as a key target for Bristol City, with Lee Johnson believed to be lining up bid of around £750,000 in an effort to secure his services.

The Robins are in need of a physical presence up front, and the Wigan man fits that profile perfectly.

Standing at 6ft 3in, and powerfully built, Bogle has all of the attributes required to be a success in England’s second tier. He could act as a focal point for City’s attacking play, and for just three quarters of a million, it could turn out to be a real coup for the Robins, if Johnson does in fact manage to bring the 25-year-old to Aston Gate this summer.
