Bristol City favourites to sign Swansea goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt ahead of Nottingham Forest.

Bristol City are the favourites to sign Swansea City’s Kristoffer Nordfeldt this summer as the goalkeeper seeks more game time, reports Wales Online.

Nottingham Forest are also in the hunt for Nordfeldt, who the Swans do not want to sell permanently but may be willing to let go out on loan.

The 28-year-old joined from Heerenveen in the summer of 2015, but in the two seasons since has managed just eight first team appearances and has admitted to being frustrated with the minutes he is getting for Welsh side.

“Swansea have said that I am not for sale. If the coach continues to continue to play Fabianski then there is a small opening that I could get to go away on loan,” Nordfeldt told Swedish publication Aftonbladet in June.

“It has been difficult. Honestly, I think I should have had the chance given the way the team has performed and what I did when I played. but it is difficult when we have changed coaches so many times.

“I know that there is interest on the levels that I find interesting. I think they are mainly about loans.”

Swansea have even signed Elwin Mulder on a free transfer this summer in case Nordfeldt does leave the Liberty Stadium on loan.

The Robins want the Sweden international to act as competition to current number one at Ashton Gate, Frank Fielding, while Forest manager Mark Warburton is also keen to bolster his goalkeeping options.

City seem to be leading the way currently and it looks as if Nordfeldt will indeed get his wish of leaving South Wales in search of more game time.
