Bristol City have reportedly snubbed the chance to sign trialist Kieran Richardson, who has been linked with Leeds.

According to the Bristol Post, Bristol City have decided not to pursue a deal for trialist Kieran Richardson, with Leeds United believed to be keen on him.
Richardson, 31, was released by Aston Villa earlier this summer following their relegation from the Premier League, and he’s looking to find a new club after the transfer deadline passed last week.

A former Manchester United youngster who also turned out for West Bromwich Albion, Sunderland and Fulham during a lengthy spell in the Premier League, Richardson also earned eight caps for England, meaning he brings bags of experience to any team who looks to sign him.
Richardson has recently been training with Bristol City in a bid to win a contract with the Robins, but manager Lee Johnson has chosen not to sign him, according to a report from the Bristol Post.

The Robins already have left-sided players at the club in Joe Bryan, Scott Golbourne and Callum O’Dowda, with Johnson preferring to go with the options he currently has rather than sign Richardson.
Richardson remains a free agent after Bristol City’s snub, but he seems to have other interest from Championship clubs after the Sunday Mirror reported that Leeds United are also keen on signing him in their print edition earlier this week.

The Whites have a talented young left back in Charlie Taylor, and whilst Tyler Denton looks to be one for the future, adding a veteran left back like Richardson could be valuable for Garry Monk’s side.
Available for free, Richardson could add some experience to the Leeds side, and if Monk really is interested in signing him, then the path could be clear after Bristol City turned him down – though fans may wonder why Leeds would want Richardson if Bristol City have said no to him.
