Omar Bogle is likely to move to Cardiff City but as a replacement for Kenneth Zohore? Brighton and Hove Albion will hope so.

Kenneth Zohore is hot property right now and it’s no wonder. After a slow start to life at Cardiff City following his move from KV Kortrijk, the Danish Under-21 international ended last season with 12 goals in just 24 Championship starts.

And, needless to say, a one-in-two goal record usually attracts a few suitors. Though Cardiff manager Neil Warnock reiterated his desire for Zohore to remain in South Wales beyond the end of the transfer window, per the BBC, it appears that The Bluebirds’ resolve will come under severe strain.

According to the Daily Mail, fellow Championship play-off chasers Hull City had a £10 million offer rejected but interest from the Premier League could prove far more testing.

One-in-two record

The report adds that Brighton and Hove Albion, who finished runners-up to Newcastle in the second tier last season, are plotting a move for the 23-year-old Zohore.

Seagulls gaffer Chris Hughton will be under no illusions that his side need more firepower if they are to survive in the Premier League with their first-choice centre-forward, 33-year-old Glenn Murray, managing only 11 goals in 50 top flight games for Crystal Palace and Bournemouth.

And The Mail adds that Cardiff are hoping to boost their forward line by offering Wigan Athletic flop Omar Bogle an escape route, though it is unclear whether they view the striker as a possible replacement for Zohore.

Bogle moved to Wigan in January after scoring for fun for Grimsby Town in League Two but failed to find his feet at a higher level, netting twice in 14 games as The Latics were relegated.

However, the report claims that he is now likely to be given another chance in the Championship with Cardiff closing in on a £1 million deal.
