According to The Telegraph, Brighton and Hove Albion are interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Kevin Stewart – but the Reds have slapped a £10million asking price on his head.

The Seagulls have already clinched promotion to the Premier League, and can also seal the Championship title with a win over Bristol City on Saturday afternoon.

Chris Hughton has masterminded Brighton’s superb campaign, and he will be keen to add new faces to his squad in an attempt to keep the club in the Premier League.

One area that Hughton could look to strengthen is in central midfield, where he does already have Beram Kayal and Oliver Norwood, though both Dale Stephens and Steve Sidwell are out of contract this summer.

Now, The Telegraph report that Brighton are interested in signing Liverpool youngster Kevin Stewart, though the £10million asking price could be something of a concern for Hughton’s men.

Stewart, 23, came up through the ranks with Tottenham before moving on to Liverpool in the summer of 2014, and he has become a valuable squad player under Jurgen Klopp.

With 20 first-team appearances to his name now, and 11 Premier League games under his belt, Stewart has shown promise – but he may be keen to play more regularly, with a move back down south potentially appealing too.

However, Liverpool boss Klopp is allegedly ‘in no rush’ to sell Stewart, as he wants a big squad at Anfield next season, meaning Stewart may have to push for a move, or Brighton may have to bid huge money, in order to seal a summer move.
