Tottenham Hotspur and Everton may have to act quickly with their Premier League rivals making a bid.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Brighton have attempted to jump to the front of the queue to sign Tottenham and Everton target Thomas Delaney by making a £10 million bid for the 26-year-old.

Delaney has been a superb addition to the Werder Bremen squad since his arrival from Copenhagen in 2017. This season, the Denmark international has scored three goals and provided four assists from the middle of the park, and is now attracting plenty of attention.

The Daily Mail reports that Spurs, Everton and Brighton are all keen on signing Delaney during the upcoming window, and it is Chris Hughton’s men who have tried to snap him up before their rivals.

The Mail suggested that the Seagulls have made a £10 million offer – however, that bid has been rejected by the Bundesliga side, who are looking for £16.3 million before they give a deal the green light.

Given that Brighton will be playing in the Premier League again next year and will enjoy the riches that come with that, it would be little surprise if they were seriously considering returning with a bid much closer to what Werder Bremen want as they have already reportedly confirmed their interest with a substantial offer.

Mauricio Pochettino manager

The Mail adds that Everton made an £8 million offer in the month that he moved to Germany for £1.5 million, so the fact that he has thrived with his current club must make him a tempting target once again this summer.

And with the London Evening Standard suggesting that Spurs are likely to lose Mousa Dembele in the summer, perhaps Mauricio Pochettino may also be alerted by Brighton’s first attempt to get a deal done.
