Brighton are looking to beat Hull to the signing of Cardiff striker Kenneth Zohore.

Brighton and Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton has turned his attention to Cardiff City’s Kenneth Zohore as he looks to bolster his striker options ahead of a debut season in the Premier League, according to the Sun.

Zohore has been the subject of two rejected bids from Hull City in recent times, as they too aim to sign the 23-year-old after his remarkable turnaround in form over the past 12 months.

After initially struggling the first half of 2016/17, the Dane scored his first goal of the campaign on Boxing Day 2016 and then went on to find the net 12 times in 29 Championship appearances in total.

Zohore was named the Bluebirds’ young player of the year as a result and was rewarded with a contract extension until 2020, but now boss Neil Warnock may struggle to hold onto his forward.

Brighton are hoping that the promise of top flight football will be enough to convince the attacker to leave South Wales and also choose the Seagulls ahead of Hull.

Hughton has been busy already this window, signing four new players, but as yet no new additions have been brought in upfront and clearly this is what the 58-year-old wants to concentrate on next.
