The report claims that the former Arsenal striker is holding out for a return to the Premier League but with no deals on the table, he may settle for a switch to a promotion chasing Championship side.
Bendtner has been without a club after seeing his contract with Wolfsburg terminated earlier this year.
A report in Sky Sports last January mentioned Crystal Palace as a keen suitor for his signature, yet the Eagles seemingly haven’t followed up their reported interest this summer.
Bendtner, 28, no doubt boasts ability having represented his country Denmark over 70 times scoring an impressive 29 goals, including a hattrick last year in a 3-2 friendly win over the United States.
However, his attitude has sparked controversy at times and his latest spell with Wolfsburg was a major disappointment after showing promise in a previous loan spell at Sunderland.
Brighton and Norwich are among the frontrunners for promotion from the Championship this term yet both still feel they can bolster their attacking options ahead of the upcoming deadline.
The Seagulls are the latest to show a strong interest in Bendtner, as reported by the Daily Mail, though Norfolk-based side Norwich are willing to provide competition for his signature.
