The Austria international has had a phenomenal season in Germany, and that has caught the attention of Brighton.

Premier League new boys Brighton and Hove Albion have reportedly bid £1.5m for Ingolstadt defender Markus Suttner, though the recently relegated Bundesliga club are holding out for a fee closer to £3m, as reported by Kicker.
The 30-year-old is under contract until 2018, but has informed Ingolstadt of his intention to leave the club, which could see him depart the German top flight for the English equivalent if the Seagulls up their offer.
Suttner, an Austria international, scored four goals and claimed five assists in 31 Bundesliga matches, and was seen as one of the best left sided players in the division last season, which suggests that despite his age, Brighton could be getting a very good player if they make the deal happen.
As well as operating at left back, Suttner is just as capable of playing down the left wing, while interestingly, all four of his goals came from direct free-kicks – suggesting that Brighton could be on the verge of signing a set-piece specialist.

Given the current financial climate, £3m is a bit of a steal for a player who was outstanding in the Bundesliga last term, and there will be many Brighton fans who will be hoping that the club can get this transfer wrapped up and finalised.
The Seagulls will play in the Premier League for the first time in their history after winning promotion from the Championship in the 2016/17 season, with Chris Hughton’s side eventually finishing second.
