Championship outfit Nottingham Forest are reportedly set to sign Caen goalkeeper Brice Samba to put pressure on Manchester City loanee Aro Muric.

Caen goalkeeper Brice Samba is set to seal a move to Nottingham Forest before Thursday’s transfer deadline, according to Actu.
Forest have already signed one shot-stopper this summer but after Manchester City loanee Aro Muric endured a nightmare debut in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to West Brom, gifting The Baggies their opener before being lobbed by a mishit cross for the second, the 20-year-old’s place in the starting XI could come under threat already.
SoccerLink reported last week that the two-time European champions were eyeing up the £3.5 million-rated Samba, who impressed in Ligue 1 last season despite Caen’s relegation.
The Normandy outfit poured fuel on the fire when Samba was left out of the squad for their 2-1 Ligue 2 defeat at home to Lorient over the weekend and it seems that the 25-year-old’s absence was no coincidence.
“Is there contact (from interested clubs)? Obviously. With him as with others. The English transfer window ends Thursday,” Caen president Fabrice Clement said, pretty much admitting that Samba was bound for Britain.

Actu adds that the Congo-born ‘keeper is set to ‘commit’ to Nottingham Forest. He will reunite with Herve Sekli, his former goalkeeping coach at Caen.
So with Forest set to play their second game of the new season away at Leeds United on Saturday, it will be interesting to see whether manager Sabri Lamouchi sticks with Muric or hands Samba, who should sign on the dotted line this week, his debut at Elland Road.
