West Bromwich Albion, Crystal Palace and Celtic look set to miss out on Kasper Junker as new Brexit rules make a move to Britain “impossible” for the Bodo/Glimt forward, according to Bold.

After firing his Norwegian employers to Eliteserien glory, Junker appeared to have his heart set on linking up with former Bodo/Glimt teammate and new Watford winger Philip Zinckernagel in the UK.

TEAMtalk reported West Brom, Crystal Palace and Celtic were all keen on Junker, who scored 27 times in 28 games last season.

And, speaking to BT, the former Denmark U21 international admitted a potential move to the Premier League was “very interesting”.

You’d imagine Celtic, even after a miserable campaign at Parkhead, would still hold plenty of appeal too. After all, the Glasgow giants can offer something West Brom or Palace can’t – the chance of silverware and the promise of European football.

But, according to reports coming out of Scandinavia, Junker won’t be heading across the North Sea before Monday’s transfer deadline – and we have Brexit to blame.

Bold claims new transfer regulations will make a potential move to Palace, West Brom or Celtic “impossible”.

That’s because Junker has never earned a senior cap for the Danish national team. As such, it will be exceedingly difficult for the 26-year-old to earn the requisite work permit.

Apparently, one unnamed Premier League club has had a request for a work permit turned down by the FA already, with Junker now likely to seal a switch to Italy instead.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports Crotone are now at the front of the queue after making a £1.3 million bid.
