Hogan could become the latest star name sold by the Bees as Mike Phelan seeks forward-line additions at the KC Stadium.

Brentford’s Scott Hogan is a £7 million target for Hull City, according to a report in Wednesday’s Sun newspaper (page 51).

Hull are yet to add to their squad since clinching promotion via the Championship play-offs in May, but have won their opening two Premier League fixtures despite this.

Regardless, new bodies are needed in attack, especially with last season’s top scorer Abel Hernandez linked with a move to Aston Villa in Sunday’s Sun.

The report claimed the Uruguayan wants out of East Yorkshire, despite Hull’s promising start to the campaign.

Hogan is one of a number of potential replacements named in Wednesday’s Sun story, alongside Asamoah Gyan, Nemanja Nikolic, Jay Rodriguez, and Benjamin Moukandjo.

The Salford-born striker missed almost the entirety of last season, but returned in March and ended the campaign with a remarkable seven goals in as many matches.

Brentford are expected to sell playmaker Alan Judge to Newcastle United this window, and would be loathe to lose Hogan, who was playing for non-league Hyde United before Rochdale came calling in 2013.
