Report: Brentford identify replacement for £25m Villa and West Ham target Said Benrahma

According to the Daily Mail, Brentford have identified Robin Hack as a replacement for Aston Villa and West Ham United target Said Benrahma.

The Bees missed out on promotion last season, losing in the playoff final.

Brentford, who have gradually improved their squad over the past few years on a Moneyball system, are now vulnerable to losing their better talents.

The Daily Mail claim Villa, West Ham and Fulham are keen on Benrahma.

And the chances of the Algerian joining a Premier League club this summer appear high after Brentford identify Nuremburg forward Hack in a £5 million deal.

Hack, a Germany U21 international, can play out wide and scored ten goals last term.

Replacing Benrahma will be a difficult task. The 25-year-old posted 17 goals and nine assists in the 2019-20 campaign, earning recognition as one of the league’s best.

Brentford value him at a hefty £25 million.

But Premier League clubs such as Villa and West Ham would know they would be getting a talented wide player capable of scoring and improving further with time.

Villa narrowly avoided relegation back to the Championship last season, staying up by just one point thanks to a last-day 1-1 draw with the Hammers in east London.

Scoring goals was a problem for Villa. In those wide forward positions, there is a lack of real quality despite Trezeguet popping up with some important goals.

West Ham, meanwhile, may be on the lookout for an alternative to Felipe Anderson. The Brazilian struggled last term, scoring just once in 25 Premier League games.
