Brentford are in talks to sign prolific winger Asumah Abubakar from SC Kriens this summer, according to reports from KickGH.
The bargain hunters of British football could be about to pull off yet another inspired piece of business in the transfer market.
Billy Beane himself would take plenty of pride in the way Brentford continue to overachieve year after year with their ‘Moneyball’ policy reaping rewards.
And, perhaps encouraged by the remarkable success of Said Benrahma, Christian Norgaard, Henrik Dalsgaard and co, reports are suggesting that another little-known prospect could be on his way to London from mainland Europe.
Abubakar was in remarkable form across 2019/20, finding the back of the net 14 times in 33 games for Swiss second tier side SC Kriens.

The report adds that talks over a move to Brentford are now underway, though it remains to be seen how much Thomas Franks’s Bees would have to pay to get the deal done.
Given that the former Portugal U19 international has just 12 months left on his contract in Switzerland, Abubakar certainly won’t challenge fellow right winger Bryan Mbeumo for the status as Brentford’s record signing.
