Everton and Liverpool are quoted £13 million for the German attacker, according to a report.

According to Il Messaggero, Everton and Liverpool can sign Max Kruse for £13 million this summer.

Bild reported earlier this month that Liverpool were firmly interested in the 29-year-old Werder Bremen attacker, who scored 15 goals last season.

Earlier in the summer it was claimed by talkSPORT that Everton were also keen, and Il Messaggero report now that both Merseyside rivals still want the German forward.

But the report goes on to state that Bremen’s asking price is now £13 million, slightly higher than the £10.5 million previously reported.

If true, the increase is unlikely to dampen Everton’s interest, given how Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has already splurged over £100 million.

But they still need a goalscorer.

Of course, Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez have been signed, but Rooney is 32 and perhaps not the force he once was, while Sandro, albeit a big talent, is unproven.

Signing Kruse would certainly boost their firepower, but can they hold off Liverpool? This remains to be seen.
