Barcelona-owned Aston Villa attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho is open to a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the summer transfer window, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Coutinho from Barcelona in the summer of 2022.

The former Liverpool playmaker is on loan at Villa at the moment, and the Villans want to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

Mundo Deportivo have reported that Coutinho knows that he will have to take a pay-cut to make a permanent move to the Premier League.

The 29-year-old, who can also play as a winger, does not want to join Newcastle United, but he is reportedly open to a transfer to Arsenal if the Gunners make an offer.

Philippe Coutinho would make Arsenal better

In our opinion, Coutinho would make Arsenal better and would make the Gunners more creative and potent in attack.

The Brazilian is starting to get back to his best under Villa manager Steven Gerrard, and that is very encouraging for Arsenal.

Yes, Martin Odegaard is doing well for Arsenal, who also have Emile Smith Rowe in attacking midfield, but Coutinho is more advanced in his career and is more mature.

If the Gunners get into the Champions League, then a player like Coutinho would enhance their chances of competing in it.
