According to ESPN, Everton are challenging Arsenal and Chelsea for the signature of Hamburg defender Josha Vagnoman this summer.
The Toffees have brought in PSV Eindhoven’s Marcel Brands to serve as their new director following the sacking of Steve Walsh, having made a host of disappointing signings over the last two years.
With a poor season in the books, Everton need to kick on – and Brands is seemingly ready to challenge some of the Premier League’s elite for a top young talent.
ESPN report that Brands is leading Everton into battle with Arsenal and Chelsea for Hamburg teenager Josha Vagnoman this summer, in the hope of clinching his signature.
Vagnoman, 17, has come up through the ranks with Hamburg having joined the club back in 2010, and he has already made his first-team debut for the German side.
Primarily a full back who can operate on either side, Vagnoman has three caps for Germany at Under-17 level, and has been touted for a bright future.
With Hamburg relegated out of the Bundesliga, Vagnoman may be tempted to leave the club if a Premier League team do come calling, and Everton could offer him an escape route this summer.
