Everton are reportedly trying to keep Ademola Lookman.
According to The Telegraph, Marcel Brands will be holding talks with the representatives of Everton forward Ademola Lookman in a bid to convince him to stay.
The Toffees are set for a big summer having sacked Sam Allardyce last week, whilst director of football Steve Walsh was also sacked by majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri.
Dutchman Marcel Brands has arrived from PSV Eindhoven as the club’s new director of football, and he must now work hard to bring in new signings to take the club forward.
Brands must also attempt to keep some players at Goodison Park, and The Telegraph report that he is planning talks with the representatives of Ademola Lookman in a bid to convince him stay.
Lookman, 20, was an exciting signing for Everton from Charlton Athletic back in January 2017, but he was something of a misfit under Sam Allardyce, and headed out on loan to RB Leipzig after making just one Premier League start this season.
The young forward – capable of playing out wide or up front – enjoyed a stunning period in the Bundesliga, hitting an impressive five goals and three assists in just 11 appearances.
Fans want to see Lookman stay, and it now seems that Brands want him to be a key part of Everton’s future too, with talks now planned in a bid to dissuade him from wanting to sign for Leipzig on a permanent basis.
