Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings is reportedly heading to Aston Villa for a medical.

Mings’ future has been the subject of speculation for much of the window. He has struggled for game-time with the Cherries, and it appeared more than likely that he would end up heading into the Championship on a temporary basis.
Sky Sports reports that West Brom and Derby were also keen on the 25-year-old, who, BBC Sport reported, cost Eddie Howe’s men £8 million when he joined from Ipswich Town.

If Mings can get back to his best and avoid any injuries, he could be a fantastic signing for Dean Smith. Villa’s defence desperately needed additions heading into this window, and the Bournemouth man could be perfect.
No team in the top-half of the Championship has conceded more goals than Villa, so getting Mings through the door has unquestionably got the potential to be an inspired piece of business.
