It’s being claimed that West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion, said last month to be readying a £7 million bid, have been impressed by the Cherries star.

Everton are eyeing Bournemouth’s Steve Cook as an alternative to number one defensive target Michael Keane, the Sun reports.

Burnley’s Keane is said to be wanted by a string of Everton’s Premier League rivals, prompting the Toffees to consider alternatives.

And Cook, who has recorded the most headed and overall clearances in this season’s top flight, has reportedly emerged as a candidate to partner Ashley Williams at the back next season – despite shipping 11 goals in four games against the Merseyside club.

Everton aren’t the only ones to have taken a shine to Cook, however, with the Sun listing both West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion as potential suitors.

The Hammers signed Southampton’s Jose Fonte in January, but the Portuguese is struggling to make a positive impression at the London Stadium.

West Brom, meanwhile, were previously linked with a move for the 25-year-old (Mail), with a £7 million reportedly being readied ahead of the summer transfer window.

Long-serving centre-back Jonas Olsson was allowed to quit the Baggies before the end of his deal last month, while Brendan Galloway has returned to parent club Everton.
