Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on Bournemouth attacker Josh King.

According to the Daily Mail, Bournemouth want at least £15million for striker Josh King amid interest from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

King went into the Premier League season having scored six times last term, his first campaign with the Cherries having joined on a free transfer from Blackburn Rovers in 2015.

The Norwegian’s solid if unspectacular start to life on the South Coast meant that he wasn’t really on the radar of many earlier this season, but his form since the turn of the year has been incredible.

Saturday’s winning goal in the 1-0 win over Sunderland means that King has now scored 12 goals in his last 14 games in 2017, becoming one of the Premier League’s top goalscorers in the process.

King, 25, has now hit 15 goals this term, and the Daily Mail claim that Tottenham are interested in landing the former Manchester United trainee this summer, with Mauricio Pochettino keen to add more firepower to help Harry Kane.

King fits the bill with his pace, power and remarkable form, but it’s stated that Bournemouth would want a fee of at least £15million to part ways with King this summer – something Spurs may not be too keen on having splashed the cash on Vincent Janssen last summer.

Given that he came up through the ranks with Manchester United, King qualifies as a homegrown player, and that appears to be a major bonus for Tottenham, who will be preparing for next season’s Champions League.

With a contract until 2020, Spurs will have to work hard to tempt Bournemouth into a deal, whilst they must also be confident that King can sustain his goalscoring form in the long-term, as paying big money for a player enjoying a purple patch could be a huge mistake.
