The Portugal international has been linked with a move back to England recently.

Reports in Turkey have updated on the future of Fenerbahce midfielder Raul Meireles – amid interest from Bournemouth and Aston Villa.
Aktif Mediya report that the former Liverpool and Chelsea midfielder has been in England this week as he looks to seal a move to Bournemouth, having decided against a move to Aston Villa.

It seems as though he has been swayed by the prospect of Premier League football at Dean Court, after Aston Villa’s relegation to the Championship – and that the midfielder has rejected offers from his Portuguese homeland to make the move.

He is a free agent after failing to agree an extension to his deal with the Turkish club.
The transfer has certainly come as a surprise, as he is not a typical Bournemouth signing, but he would certainly add some experience to the Cherries midfield.
As for Villa it appears they have missed out.

Objektif Bakis in Turkey reported that Villa had opened contract talks with Meireles over a potential return to English football in March.
