Bournemouth and Watford will be looking to strengthen this summer and they have been linked with the Lyon player.

According to a report from French newspaper L’Equipe, Premier League clubs Watford and Bournemouth are interested in signing midfielder Jordan Ferri this summer.

The 25-year-old plays predominantly in the centre of the park although he can also operate as a right-back, a right winger or a holding midfielder if required.

With that kind of versatility, it is no surprise Watford and Bournemouth are keeping a close eye on the Frenchman. Although with a contract until the summer of 2020 it may take some persuading for Lyon to sanction a deal.

Watford are said to be particularly interested in Ferri as they look to build a squad capable of making another step up in the Premier League next season and beyond.

The midfielder featured 36 times for Lyon last season, scoring three goals and providing three assists in the process, and with 173 appearances in total for the Ligue 1 club he has plenty of experience.

Arguably reaching his peak, now could be the ideal time for Ferri to make the move to England and if it is a straight fight between Watford and Bournemouth for the player’s signature it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.

The former France under-21 international should have plenty of chances at Lyon next season despite being a bit-part player on occasions last time out.

Now it could be up to him if he wants to stay at the club where he has grown up or seek a new challenge with either the Hornets or the Cherries.
